Introduction: The idea and research behind the Vector CPU swap was created by kercre123 on Github. It involves replacing the Qualcomm APQ8009 SOC on the Vector's headboard. I was among one of the first people to successfully complete this swap.

The process: The CPU has a BGA socket so swapping it is a difficult and dangerous task. I went to a specialized smartphone repair shop to assist me with the swap as the CPU is commonly used in android smartphones. After the swap you need to modify the Vector's flash by erasing the sec partition and modifying the ABOOT partition, after that you can boot the headboard and load into recovery allowing you to SSH and install any FW
